BLAGDON POND ICE VENT AND HEATER

• Creates an ice-free zone allowing toxic gases to escape • Suitable for all ponds up to 1200 gallons • Effective protection to -20°F The ice Vent Pond Heater has been specially designed for water gardening and pond care, incorporating innovative energy-saving technology to help protect your pond during the cold winter months. Built to support healthy pond environments, it provides a reliable way to maintain an essential ice-free opening in the surface of your pond, ensuring your fish and aquatic life remain safe when temperatures drop. Ponds do not need to be completely heated or fully ice-free during winter. However, it is crucial to maintain a small open area in the ice so that harmful gases produced by decomposing organic matter can escape while fresh, life-giving oxygen can enter the water. Without this natural exchange, fish and other aquatic life can suffer during prolonged freezing conditions. The Ice Vent Pond Heater is specifically designed to maintain this vital ice-free zone, often referred to as a “vent.” Using a unique heat convection design, the heater gently circulates warmth in the surrounding water to prevent the surface from sealing over with ice. This efficient method allows the heater to operate with minimal energy consumption while still maintaining an effective opening in the ice. Thanks to its energy-efficient design, the Ice Vent can maintain an ice-free vent even in extremely cold conditions, withstanding temperatures as low as -20°F (-29°C). By preventing the pond from completely freezing over, the heater allows toxic gases to escape and oxygen to enter the water, helping to sustain a healthy environment for fish, plants, and beneficial aquatic organisms throughout winter. Ideal for garden ponds of many sizes, the Ice Vent Pond heater offers peace of mind during the coldest months of the year. With its dependable performance and low energy use, it provides a simple yet effective solution for maintaining proper pond ventilation and protecting your aquatic ecosystem when it needs it most.
